BIS Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme

BIS Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS), managed by the Bureau of Indian Standards, allows overseas manufacturers to obtain the ISI Mark Certification for products sold in India. Under this scheme, foreign manufacturers must ensure their products comply with applicable Indian Standards and undergo testing in BIS-recognized laboratories. The process includes application submission, product sampling, factory inspection by BIS officials, and quality system verification. An authorized Indian representative is mandatory for coordination with BIS. Once approved, the FMCS license permits the manufacturer to use the ISI Mark, ensuring product credibility, regulatory compliance, and customer trust in the Indian market.
